Eat Fit NOLA

Pigéon Catering is excited to announce our partnership with Eat Fit NOLA! The purpose of the partnership is to bring more nutritious and delicious meals to the students are participating schools. The following is what a parent can now expect in our schools.

What is Eat Fit NOLA?

A non-profit initiative of Ochsner Health System, the mission of the Eat Fit team of dietitians is to make the healthy choice the easy choice.

One of the essential building blocks to raising strong and confident children is teaching them how to fuel their body with foods that nourish, energize and empower them to live well. Which is why, we are excited to partner with Eat Fit and bring Eat Fit menu items in the school cafeteria.

The Eat Fit Criteria is Simple:

  • Low in animal fat
  • Low in added sugar
  • Lower in sodium
  • No white carbohydrates

These four principles are things that almost every nutrition expert can agree on.

The Eat Fit menu items will be comprised of meals and snacks designed to:

  • enhance mental and physical performance
  • support a healthy immune system
  • promote a healthy mood
  • nourish growing bodies
  • boost brain function
  • increase focus

Here are a few Eat Fit menu items you will see at our schools, just look for the Eat Fit Seal on the calendar menu:

Testimonials

“On the first day of school, the Eat Fit Menu sold out immediately during first lunch – and it continues to be a huge success. With offerings like Eat Fit Bagel Pizza, our girls reach for the Eat Fit version first! Eat Fit has raised their awareness of the necessity of being mindful of healthy nutrition at all times. We are proud to be a part of the Eat Fit in Schools program."   ” – Beth Ann Simno, Principal, Mount Carmel Academy

“I am so excited, and so grateful, that our school is offering Eat Fit meals for our children. As a parent, it warms my heart and brings a smile to my face every time I see the Eat Fit seals on the school lunch menu!” – Amanda, St. Paul’s Episcopal Parent
