Pigéon Caterers is owned and operated by brothers Jean-Pierre and Dean
Pigéon. Chef Dean loves to cook, entertain and eat! He considers himself a ‘professional eater’, and enjoys fine wine, Mardi Gras, and is a loyal and devoted Saints fan.
Jean-Pierre runs the business side of the company as well as ‘front of house’ operations, is also an excellent cook, and truly enjoys the catering in every sense of the word.
He ‘caters’ to
every client as if each one is the only one.

Together, the brothers’ easy-going personalities, knowledge of the city and talent for cooking, have made Pigeon Caterers the growing, successful company that it is today.
The Pigeon brothers learned about the industry from their late father who owned a food distributing company. At an early age, Dean was taken into many of New Orleans finest Hotels and Restaurants with his father’s company, and eventually landed a job at the world famous New Orleans Fairmont Hotel. |

Working under Chef Randy Buck in the late
80s and early 90s, Dean realized that cooking was his passion, and that he would live his life in a kitchen. Meanwhile, Jean-Pierre was working hard and learning the business from bottom to top at one of the City’s largest catering companies.
In 1992, along with brother Troy Pigéon, Dean started the second family business, DEAN’S DELI.

The Deli produced long lines of loyal patrons who enjoyed gourmet sandwiches, traditional New Orleans dishes and delectable desserts.
The Deli segued into a third business, Pigéon Caterers, in order to fill the growing requests for large party orders. In 1997, the catering company overshadowed the small deli, and the Pigeons decided to devote all of their time to catering. We have recently acquired the catering division of Best of Susan catering.
Since the year 2000, when Pigéon Caterers moved to their Mid City location, Russ Spezial has served as Chef de Cuisine and is the current General Manager. Russ owned his own restaurant in New Orleans for 10 years, after working his way around the finest 4 and 5 star establishments. Russ’s degree in fine arts guides him creatively through the
Pigéon kitchens, and his eye for detail ensures gastronomic eminence.
